Don't help Russia evade sanctions, Ukraine tells Hong Kong

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister has urged Hong Kong to prevent Russia from using the city to bypass Western sanctions. The US and EU have sanctioned companies in Hong Kong and mainland China for evading measures imposed on Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine. The Foreign Minister called on Hong Kong’s administration to take action against Russia and its companies. Dual-use items, which have both civilian and military applications, have been targeted by the sanctions. Hong Kong officials have previously stated that the city has no obligation to implement unilateral sanctions.
